  1. That nonsense is still being watched. No thanks, I’ve got better things to do with my time than listen to a bunch of self-absorbed people with a superiority complex who believe their views are more important than others’.

  2. For me, the show was unwatchable. It’s been that way for a long time. Maybe I’ve just outgrown it. Surprisingly, I also like the Red Carpet.

  3. There is no greater torment than having the whole world watching your face and being forced to smile as your competitor takes home the prize you so desperately want! There’s no better place to hide your face than up your own arse, as seen here!

  4. In Spain, there is a TV channel that boasts of being the most watched channel ALL THE TIME, including in the news. I still think of them as if they’re eating their own cocks, so they get this award.

  5. I liked how they switched it up and put Actor last instead of Image, with the intention of ending the show with a final hurrah for Chadwick Boseman, only for the award to go to someone else who had the academy accept the award on their behalf.

  6. Guys, it’s not unusual for industries to notice their colleagues who are doing well. I’ll never understand why people are so anti-Oscar.

  7. My mother’s friend was in the winning film.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer and wanted to pursue a career as an actress after her recovery.

  8. Some people enjoy seeing their favorite actors and films gain popularity. Although I recognize that the show is essentially a glorified employee of the year bonus, I can’t help but believe that some of those who despise award shows are simply jealous.

  9. Imagine being triggered by an awards show that honors great movies from all over the world, as well as the people who work tirelessly to make these films a reality.

  10. I love watching to see all of the actors together, and every now and then a film that I have seen wins an award. There were no actors at the awards this year, so it was a particularly difficult year. I believe it would be a good opportunity for me to see and enjoy some new films that I might not have seen before. More mainstream blockbusters should be nominated and compete for more honors, hopefully.

  11. Much thanks. Celebrities are a slew of overpaid, conceited jackasses. I’m not sure how we’ve managed to get this far without asking them to shut up and dance for peanuts.

  12. I’m not sure, but I don’t think you should watch it like 95% of the population.

The Oscars attract a lot of satirical attention and have a lot of nonsense opinion pieces written about them. If you don’t think about it, so don’t worry about it.

  13. I’m no longer interested in paying attention. It’s just a circle-jerk, with a few spoiled rich jerks showing everyone else how they’ve seen the light and everyone else having to perk up.

That’s how wealthy they are, saying you can get organic coffee to those who can’t afford the simple swill.

  14. Then what’s the big deal with criticizing the Oscars? Isn’t this something they do every year? This is the first time I’ve seen so many people spouting nonsense about them on Reddit.

  16. Well, exactly. Because of its politicking and perceived super-importance, Hollywood is dooming itself to obscurity. Every year, as a movie buff, I eagerly anticipated the Oscars. However, since Trump’s election, the Oscars and the rest of the film industry have turned off half of the world with their hollow virtue signaling.

  17. The worst part is that: A-the media believes this is what we want them to cover; B-they believe we care when 99 percent of us don’t; and C-there appears to be nothing better on TV than watching a bunch of rich actors and actresses in gaudy clothing give each other awards they don’t deserve for three hours.

  18. All the hullabaloo about Hopkins winning best actor instead of Chadwick Boseman is nonsense, as everyone who saw the awful film Ma Rainey knows.
